RETURN, REFUND & WARRANTY POLICY
Last updated: January 16, 2026
This Return, Refund & Warranty Policy applies to purchases made from Finest Emergency Lighting LLC (“FEL,” “we,” “us”) through our website, by phone, or by invoice, unless we clearly state otherwise in writing.
IMPORTANT NOTICE – SERVICE/INSTALLATION (INVOICE + CONTRACT) TRANSACTIONS
If you receive an estimate/quote for services, approve an invoice/quote for installation, and/or sign a Customer Contract/Service Agreement, those signed documents govern your transaction. If any portion of this website Policy is interpreted as inconsistent with the signed agreement and invoice terms, the signed agreement and invoice terms control.
By placing an order with Finest Emergency Lighting, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy and our full Terms & Conditions.

ORDER PROCESSING & CANCELLATIONS
1.1 Orders begin processing immediately after payment is authorized. Many items are built-to-order, custom-configured, or drop-shipped from the manufacturer.
1.2 Because of this, cancellations requested after an order has been placed may be treated as a return and are subject to the same fees and conditions described below.
1.3 FEL reserves the right to cancel any order at our discretion (for example, suspected fraud, pricing errors, or product unavailability). In such cases, you will receive a refund of any amounts paid, subject to any applicable card-network or financing rules. -
RETURN ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Except where prohibited by law, returns are accepted by prior approval only and must meet all of the following conditions:
-
A return request is submitted within the timeframe specified in your order confirmation or on the product page, and
-
The item is not classified as non-returnable under Section 4 below, and
-
You obtain a valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) from FEL prior to shipping the item back.
2.2 Returns sent without an RMA number, or sent to any address other than the one provided in your RMA instructions, may be refused and returned to the sender at the sender’s expense.
-
RESTOCKING FEES
3.1 Except for verified defects or approved warranty claims, all returns and order cancellations are subject to a restocking fee equal to 25% of the product price.
3.2 If items are returned without original packaging, or in a condition that requires repackaging, cleaning, or repair, an additional restocking fee of up to 10% may apply. The final percentage will be determined at our discretion based on the condition of the returned items.
3.3 Restocking fees may be charged on:
-
Orders canceled before shipment,
-
Orders canceled while in transit, and
-
Orders canceled or returned while items are in production, including drop-ship and special-order items.
3.4 Restocking fees are intended to cover our costs associated with order processing, handling, inspection, and returning product to inventory or to the manufacturer.
-
NON-RETURNABLE & NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS
4.1 The following categories of items are non-returnable and non-refundable, except where we are required by law to accept a return:
-
Items marked “Final Sale” at the time of purchase,
-
Clearance items,
-
As-Is / Used items,
-
Custom orders (including custom wiring, custom mounting, custom graphics, or other special fabrication),
-
Built-to-order products or any item marked as such in the product description or at checkout,
-
Any item that has been installed, modified, or altered from its original condition.
4.2 Financing method (including but not limited to Klarna or any other financing provider) does not change whether an item is returnable or non-returnable. It only affects how payment is collected and how eligible refunds are processed.
SPECIAL ORDER / MADE-TO-ORDER NOTICE (SERVICE/INVOICE TRANSACTIONS)
For service/installation transactions governed by an invoice and/or signed agreement, once equipment or materials are ordered, invoiced, or paid for (in whole or in part), such items are deemed special order/made-to-order and are non-refundable, and the customer remains responsible for the full cost of such equipment/materials regardless of whether the installation is completed, canceled, or rescheduled (unless otherwise stated in writing by FEL).
-
RETURN AUTHORIZATION (RMA) & CONDITION OF RETURNS
5.1 To request a return, you must contact us and obtain a written RMA number. We will provide return instructions, including the proper return address.
5.2 Unless we state otherwise in writing, you are responsible for:
-
Properly packaging the item so it is protected in transit, and
-
Including all accessories, brackets, hardware, wiring, manuals, and original packaging (if available).
5.3 Returned items will be inspected upon receipt. We may deny a return or apply additional restocking fees if the item: -
Is damaged due to improper packaging, installation, or misuse,
-
Is missing components or accessories,
-
Shows signs of abuse, modification, or tampering.
-
SHIPPING CHARGES
6.1 Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable, unless we explicitly state otherwise in writing.
6.2 Except where required by law or where we have agreed in writing, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping on any return, including warranty returns.
6.3 We may, at our sole discretion, reimburse reasonable return-shipping costs for approved warranty claims. Any such reimbursement will be documented in writing and may be provided as a refund, store credit, or replacement label. -
WARRANTY & DEFECTIVE ITEMS
7.1 Many products sold by FEL are covered by one or more warranties:
-
A limited warranty provided directly by FEL (where applicable), and/or
-
A manufacturer’s warranty provided by the product manufacturer.
7.2 The length, coverage, and process for each warranty may vary by product and manufacturer. Please refer to the product description, your order documentation, or the manufacturer’s documentation for specific details.
7.3 For products covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, you may be required to work directly with the manufacturer for service, repair, or replacement. FEL is not responsible for any manufacturer warranty decisions or timelines.
7.4 For warranty claims handled by FEL (where applicable): -
You must contact us with a detailed description of the issue and any requested photos or videos;
-
We may require that the item be returned for inspection;
-
If a defect is confirmed and covered by the applicable warranty, we will, at our option, repair, replace, or provide store credit for the product.
7.5 Warranty coverage does not apply to damage caused by: -
Improper installation, misuse, or abuse,
-
Neglect, accidents, or unauthorized modifications,
-
Acts of nature (e.g., flooding, fire, etc.),
-
Normal wear and tear.
INSTALLATION / SERVICE WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY (WHERE APPLICABLE)
For installation/services performed by FEL, workmanship-related coverage (for installed products/wiring/electrical circuitry provided by FEL and listed on the invoice/contract) may be covered up to six (6) months from the date of installation unless otherwise stated in writing, subject to conditions, exclusions, and any terms in your signed agreement. Unauthorized modifications, tampering, removal, or third-party service may void warranty coverage and may be billable.

KLARNA PURCHASES – ADDITIONAL TERMS
8.1 Items purchased using Klarna financing are subject to this Policy and the terms agreed to with Klarna at checkout.
8.2 Klarna purchases may be eligible for a full refund of the product price if all of the following conditions are met:
-
The return request is submitted within 14 days of delivery,
-
The item is unopened, unused, and in its original packaging, and
-
The item is not classified as Final Sale, Clearance, As-Is/Used, Custom Order, Built-to-Order, or otherwise marked as non-returnable.
8.3 For Klarna purchases that meet the conditions in Section 8.2, no restocking fee will be applied.
8.4 Klarna purchases that do not meet the conditions in Section 8.2 are subject to the general return and restocking rules in Sections 2–5 above. Klarna financing does not override non-returnable classifications.
8.5 Any refund for an eligible Klarna purchase will be processed through Klarna in accordance with Klarna’s policies and timelines.

CHARGEBACKS & DISPUTES
9.1 FEL encourages customers to contact us directly to resolve any issues regarding an order, return, or warranty claim. Most situations can be resolved faster and more fairly without a chargeback.
9.2 Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first attempting to follow this Policy (including obtaining an RMA, returning the product, or cooperating with a warranty process) may be treated as a breach of this Policy.
9.3 In the event of a chargeback or payment dispute, we may provide our payment processor, bank, or financing partner with:
-
A copy of your order and invoice,
-
Proof of delivery or installation (if applicable),
-
A copy of this Policy and any other applicable terms, and
-
Any communication showing that you acknowledged or agreed to our terms or refused to follow the posted Policy.
9.4 We reserve all rights and remedies available to us under this Policy and applicable law in connection with improper chargebacks or payment disputes.
-
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
10.1 FEL may update or modify this Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website unless a later effective date is stated.
10.2 The version of this Policy in effect on the date of your order will generally govern that order, unless changes are required by law or mutually agreed in writing. -
GOVERNING LAW
11.1 This Policy, and any disputes arising out of or relating to it, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
11.2 Any legal action or proceeding relating to this Policy or your purchase may be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
